FTA'S TRIBAL TRANSIT SYMPOSIUM

To provide a one-stop shop for technical assistance for Tribal leaders and Tribal organizations, the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and FTA will co-host a Tribal Transit Symposium on May 24-25, 2023 in Oklahoma City.

The two-day learning opportunity will include information on initiating transit programs on Tribal lands and technical assistance to expand and improve existing Tribal transit systems. Session leaders will discuss tips for submitting DOT and FTA grant applications, including eligibility and reporting requirements. The symposium will also provide ample opportunities for participants to provide feedback at a listening session focused on improving FTA’s Tribal Transit Program.

Session topics include:

  • DOT/FTA priorities and funding opportunities under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
  • FTA and DOT technical assistance resources
  • Best practices and industry trends
  • Interactive engagement with DOT/FTA
  • This hybrid event will be open to in-person attendees at the Oklahoma City Convention Center as well as participants who wish to stream the event live online. In-person participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, provide input, and receive hands-on technical assistance from DOT and FTA representatives.

The event is free, but all participants must register to join the Tribal Transit Symposium. The agenda will be regularly updated as more details become available.
